SUCCESSIVE SLIDINGS OF PLEASURE – DVD

Successive Slidings of Pleasure
A film by Alain Robbe-Grillet

This cult erotic drama from one of France’s most daring and challenging filmmakers, Alain Robbe-Grillet (director of Trans-Europ-Express and writer of the classic Last Year in Marienbad), stars Jean-Louis Trintignant (Haneke’s Amour and Bertolucci’s The Conformist) and a young Isabelle Huppert.

When a girl is found dead, bound to the posts of her bed with a pair of scissors impaled in her heart, a young woman – the girl’s flatmate – falls under suspicion and is questioned by police and judges, suspected of being a modern witch.

Does the woman have the power to make all around her fall prey to her spell, forcing them to slide progressively into desire, lust and, ultimately, the unknown?

Presented fully uncut and uncensored for the first time on UK DVD, Successive Slidings of Pleasure is accompanied by a range of extensive and fascinating extra features, including an audio commentary by cult cinema expert Tim Lucas.
