John Volume 1 (1:1 -12:50) EP Study Commentary

The Gospel of John has fascinated readers for centuries. Fully in accord with the other three gospels, it nevertheless grips the imagination from its opening words, rooting the story of our Saviour in eternity with the words which also open Genesis: In the beginning As the author says, Like no other book of the Bible, the Fourth Gospel contains the entire message of Gods Word in microcosm. It takes us from eternity to eternity and shows the centrality of Jesus Christ to our lives, to human history and to the meaning of the cosmos itself. For that reason, it must be at the very core of the preaching and evangelistic ministry of the Christian church. People need to hear and understand the message of the cross as expounded in John. \n \nGordon Keddie preached through the Gospel several times in the course of his long pastoral ministry, resulting in an expository commentary that will prove helpful not only to preachers, but to all who want to be gripped and moulded by the brilliance and clarity of this marvellous Gospel and the Saviour it so winsomely proclaims. \n \nEP Study Commentaries are invaluable tools for the minister, theologian and serious students of the Scriptures. This series is both readable and user- friendly. Banner of Truth
